About
Global Material Price Index is a reference site for traders, analysts and researchers who want to see what raw materials and intermediate products are being priced at, by HS code and origin country.
Methodology
Each row is a recorded price per metric ton in the currency of the transaction. Prices are not converted between currencies and statistics are never calculated across currencies. Prices differ by grade, packaging, delivery terms and timing, so treat them as indicative.

- HS codes are kept as text so leading zeros are preserved.
- Exact duplicate records are removed.
- Within each HS code and currency with at least 5 prices, a price more than 3 times or less than a third of the median is marked Review but still shown.
- Series with fewer than 5 prices are indicative only.
- The index is updated monthly.
